| I forgot which verse I used for the heading of this site and now that I see it, I realize how appropriate it is! It's time to announce to the x-nga crowd that B and I are pregnant!!! If you haven't already heard, our lil' jelly bean is 9 weeks along, and only slightly bigger than a jelly bean. We couldn't be happier about this wonderful gift from God. We continue to pray for healthy growth and development. I find there is sooo much responsibility to eat right, rest right, and drink lots of water. Yet, I trust in the Lord's awesome sovereignty to see the pregnancy through and bring the lil' jelly bean into the world near April 2008. We have also been greatly blessed by God in providing another expectant couple at church!! God is good! We ask for your prayers for our lil' bean and to send name suggestions our way! We have some boy names in mind, but they are slightly out of the ordinary... figure that. I also love the names: Dana Michelle and Hannah. | | |
| As part of my job, I get to help in searching for missing people. Most of the time, I deal with runaways, but sometimes we look for children who have wandered away. A few weeks ago, a child went missing and I was later reminded of Matt 18:12-14. So the setting: EG park, evening time, at dusk. We get a call that a child has gone missing within EG park; the boy is 12 years old, on a razor scooter and autistic. Available officers are quickly dispatched to the call. I get to the park and happen to find the boy's family. I tried to get more info about the boy to help better assess the search needs. After talking to the father for about 5 minutes, the dad reveals to me that his son doesn't speak!!! The poor little boy is non-verbal and wouldn't even be able to call for his parents, or ask for help! Geez! What an important thing for us to know! Well, the happy ending soon comes when the mother drives past my car and says that she found her son by the swings. Whew, what a relief! The next day, God reminded me of the parable of the lost sheep (Matt 18:12-14). "What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish." What I learned/realized: 1.) This parable refers to sheep-God's believing children. 2.) I think its possible that lost sheep don't know they left the 99 others, OR maybe they do realize they have gone astray and are too scared/ashamed to come back, or they can't find their way back. 3.) The sheep that have gone astray need to be sought by a searcher/search team. 4.) There is truly great joy in finding the lost sheep! 5.) The other 99 sheep are loved, but our God does not want even one of these little ones to go through spiritual devestation. 6.) The goal is restoring the relationship between the straying one and the Father. 7.) Do I know any lost sheep? 8.) God is good, all the time. He is faithful, even when we are not. | | |
| It's been a long time since I've blogged! Since then, B and I both finished school and celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. And with our new found free time, we decided to get me a bike!! We've been bike riding twice. The first time we went to the leeve. The second time, we road on Pocket Rd and then ate lunch at Quiznos. It's been great, although I'm still afraid of riding in the bike lane after sticking to the side walk for sooo long. I saw the author of H Potter on Dateline! She did a great interview and intrigued me to start reading the series!! I picked up the first book yesterday, and read about 20 pages today. I'm sure I'm going to get hooked soon. I'm also excited about a work out program that my work is going to start offering in August. It will be awesome to get into shape for the first time ever in life. | | |
| J tagged me to share my idiosyncrasies...
Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose ten people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks!
10. I never met a potato I didn't want to eat. I could eat some kind of prepared potato for every meal! 9. I used to wish my name was Kim, Kimi, or Kimberly. So I made it my secret code name at the park when I would play with J and my cousins. That way, if a stranger approached me and called me "Kim", I would know they didn't really know me! hahah 8. I have a security blanket named "Shi-shi balenie." We've been friends for probably 18 years, but I keep him in a chair in my craft room, and don't need him by my side all the time anymore. 7. I have a "craft room" and just love crafts! Especially beading and scrapbooking. The room is really messy right now and is pretty much a junk room, but soon I hope to get it up and running. 6. I like to watch people eat. Especially B and R*chel *ay on her show $40 a D*y!! 5. I have a Nintendo DS dog named Tate that I haven't checked on in 2 months.. hope he's not rolled over dead.. I hear he might have run away, but I'm too scared to check on him. 4. I used to keep a baseball bat on my side of the bed, but B took it out to actually play baseball with.. Ever since then I wonder what I would do if I had to beat someone up, I'll have to put it back under the bed tonight! 3.. Before work, I have a ritual of watching G*lmore Girls and 2 episodes of Full H*use. And I always make sure I get my shower in before GG otherwise I'll miss some of that or Full H*use! 2. I don't wash my face before bed.. I know that's really bad, but I feel like my skin gets too dry if I wash 2x a day. hahha. 1. I like the smell of skunk. hhhaha.. strange but true fact. You're It!: Well... anyone who reads this and hasn't already been tagged, I would love to hear all the weird things about you!

| I'm on campus today!! It's the 2nd time this semester so far! hahah. I'm trying to work super duper hard so that I can finally graduate this semester. So, please be in prayer that this is God's good will for me. The wonderful thing about this campus experience is that last week I paid $5 in parking and ordered the parking pass the next day, but the pass still hasn't come in the mail so I paid another $5 to park. I think the school is taking advantage of kids like me. Something super cool is that B and I are starting to have dinner with B's family every other Sunday. It's a real good deal for a kid like me. Yesterday was our first 'official' dinner. My mom-in-law (still haven't figured out what I should call her) made such a delicious meal! We had tri-tip, ribs!, brocolli, cubed- baked yams and potatoes, and rice!! I'll be amazed if B eats the food I make after that! And we brought over dessert, Chocolate cream pie and apple pie. It was real fun. The Itos bought this new exercise type machine where you get locked in and turn up side down. You can do sit-ups, and stretch out your back. So I got to watch many of the Itos flip and hang upside down. :) Trevy said I had to get in it before I left, but I was too afraid. We watched K's championship basketball game on video too. Forry's gf was there too, so that was neat. Oh, today in church, PD used the word "Benjamite," referring to the people of the tribe of Benjamin. And B decided that he would call our future (God-willing) kids, "Benjamites." I think that's super cute. Can you see B saying, "BENJAMITES! Load up, destination: Tar*et, ETA: 15 minutes." Hahhaha.. I like that. | | |
